Alabama’s Derrick Henry became the first SEC running back to record 2,000 rushing yards in a single season. The running back broke the record in the Cotton Bowl with a 1-yard touchdown against Michigan State.
The second quarter touchdown put the Crimson Tide on the score board for the first time. It marked Henry’s 24th touchdown of the season and 19th consecutive.
The team would go on to defeat the Michigan State Spartans 38-0 in the CFP semifinal. They are set to play #1 Clemson in the National Championship game on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 8:30/7:30 CT.
